Support Teachers and Students: Enter the Staples for Students Sweepstakes

In a collaborative effort, Staples and Katy Perry aim to encourage public support for classrooms that require assistance. Staples has pledged $1 million to DonorsChoose.org and urges everyone to contribute either in-store or online, reducing the financial burden on teachers.

DonorsChoose.org is a charitable organization that has funded upwards of 700,000 educational initiatives for teachers and enriched the educational experience of more than 18 million students across the nation. Currently, educators from over 70 percent of public educational institutions in the U.S. have produced project requests. Over 2 million individuals have contributed over $425 million towards initiatives that motivate them. More than 18 million students—predominantly from underprivileged backgrounds and numerous from regions impacted by disasters—have received necessary educational materials like books, art supplies, field trips, tech resources, and other vital tools for learning. By way of Staples’ $1 million contribution and additional donations from customers during back-to-school season to DonorsChoose.org, we can collectively support our teachers in maximizing classroom opportunities.

From June 26 through September 10, shoppers who spend $25 or more at any Staples location will receive a unique entry code printed on their receipt to enter the sweepstakes online at Staples.com/StaplesForStudents. One grand prize winner will secure a $50,000 scholarship and a trip for two to meet the talented Katy Perry in Los Angeles. Additionally, four first prize winners will each receive a trip to Los Angeles for two nights and funds for the VIP Winners Celebration with Katy Perry.
